Tummy Tuesday

Not much bigger then last week, but I have noticed that the bump is MUCH bigger at night then it is in the morning. There is not much bump at all in the morning.

Baby P is now about 3 inches long and weighs in at a whopping 1 oz (about the size of a medium shrimp). Some of the big changes this week are our baby now has finger prints, and the body is beginning to look more proportional to the size of his/her head. Now he/she is only 1/3 head and 2/3 body now. If I am having a girl she already has over 2 million eggs in her teeny tiny ovaries.

I'm still feeling pretty good. I only get yucky feeling every now and then and I have a ton more energy then I have had. Now don't get me wrong, I don't want to go run a marathon or anything, but I feel better. And getting up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night is getting really old...

T-minus 2 days until the 2nd trimester... That is so hard to believe! The pregnancy is 1/3 of the way over! really?!?!?! I am really looking forward to the Second Trimester for many reasons, first off being the risk of miscarrying drops considerably, and secondly- I will feel much better and have my energy back! Wahoo!! I am ready to be out of the "fat or pregnant" stage and have a distinctly cute baby bump.

I go to the doctor again on Friday for another check up. Oh!- and we find out the sex on Oct 7th! So excited!!!

Goodbye First Trimester- Hello Second Trimester :)

Tummy Tuesday

So I haven't really felt like I had a baby bump yet... just baby pudge. I feel like I just look bloated, but that all changed when I saw this picture.

OMG!!! Where did that bump come from?!?!?!?!?!!? Maybe it is twins :) I don't feel like I look like this... maybe it is because I wear baggie scrubs everyday? After Chase took this picture he grinned ear to ear and said, "Look at your bump!" I had him take it again just to make sure it wasn't a funny angle or something- but the next one looked just a big. Holy Cow!

So as you can tell Baby P is growing like a weed! He/She is 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs 1/2 and ounce. He/She now has reflexes- which means if I poke my belly he/she will move in response, although I will not be able to feel it for many weeks. Neat Huh?

As for Momma P- I am feeling much better! I still have a few short periods of nausea, but it is so much better! I am still very tired all the time, I'm even napping in an operatory chair during lunch. Hopefully in the next few weeks that will subside too. But over all I can not complain.

I have been "craving" mostly healthy things... Does that mean it's a boy? Some of my main cravings:

- Raw Veggies (mushy cooked veggies sound gross!)
- Fruit... any and all fruit!!!
- BLT sandwiches
- Pizza
- Baked Potatoes
- Salad
- String Cheese
- Twizzlers (only the soft pull and peel ones)
- Sub Sandwiches
- Chick-fil-a ..... Christina- I wish yall lived closer, I would single handedly keep you in business :)

You know you are pregnant when the snacks you bring to work looks like this:

Thursday starts week 13... the last week of the first trimester, WOW!

Tummy Tuesday

Here is your weekly belly shot....

Week 11 Baby P's is the size of a fig and his/her little hands are able to open and close. He/she is beginning to kick and stretch, although I will not be able to feel it for another month or two. I am so excited to be able to feel Baby P move around inside my belly! And the most exciting thing.... DRUM ROLL......... Baby P is getting teeth buds under his/her little gums! So exciting (well to me anyway)! And I guess I am one of those moms because I am making it a point to drink tap water so my little fig is getting enough fluoride. Already fending off those cavity bugs....

And as for me, I am feeling so much better then I have been the last few weeks. Still not 100% but I finally have a little energy and the nausea even subsides some. Slowly but surely I am beginning to feel better. WAHOO!!! BUT... I have started having to get up to go to the bathroom every night between 2- 2:30 like clockwork. I didn't realize it starts so early...Oh Joy! Apparently it is because of my increased blood volume?!?!? Because Baby P is not quite big enough to be putting pressure on my bladder. And... thanks to my hormones my face looks like a pizza. I have never had this many zits all over my face before... usually the most I would have is 1 or 2 big knots and then a few little white heads. Now I have them EVERYWHERE, and to top it off I can't take any medicine for it. Oh the joys of motherhood :)

And a tid bit from Mommy's brain:
When I picture a nursery designs, baby clothes, crib bedding, diaper bags, or anything baby... I typically picture girl things? I am not sure if my subconscious is trying to tell me something? or maybe it is just because all the baby girl stuff is way way way cuter? And of course our kid will have some cute stuff!

Here we go into week 12... hard to believe... 12 weeks... thats like 3 months.. WOW!

Change is coming...

Today Chase started a new job.... yes, you heard me right.... a new job!

For the past 2 years Chase has been working at a salvage auto auction trying to work his way up the ladder, and finally it happened. Everyone has been saying what potential he has in the auction business, but we have just been waiting (not so patiently) for his move up the ladder. Chase is now the manager of his very own auction with employees and all! Yay for Chase! The only catch is it is in Tanner, AL... which is why I have not blogged about it yet. Trying to gather my thoughts about a move. We can split the difference between our works and live in the Spring Hill/ Columbia area and both commute to work. Spring Hill/Columbia is only like 45 minutes away from where we are now and once 840 opens we will be closer to Memphis- but for some reason it seems like a BIG move. I guess I am a little overwhelmed. I mean all in the next 6 months we are going to move, start a new job, and have a baby... kind of a lot of life changes at one time. All positive life changes, but still changes. We've done it before (graduated, married, moved and started new jobs all in 4 months), so we can sure do it again, but this one caught me off guard. The other one was years in the making... but this one came up fast and I can not plan for it. Maybe thats why I am struggling with this. I can't plan it out.

We can't move until we sell our house, and with this market it could be a while... So that will give me more time to let this sink in. This is a great opportunity for him, and a positive move for our family. And I am super excited about buying a new house!

And how was his first day you ask? IT WENT GREAT! He had such a good day, and the commute is not too bad for now. He leaves at like 6:00 and gets home at like 6:30- not too shabby for an hour and a half commute. He seems like he is really going to enjoy this job, and I am so proud of him!

Please pray for our transition and that we make wise decisions about our future.

Tummy Tuesday

Not much change in the bump- still thinking it is mostly bloating, but it is kinda hard feeling... so maybe 30%baby bump 70% pudge????

Week 10 starts the fetal period where Baby P is classified as a fetus and no longer an embryo. During the fetal stage all of the tissue and organs that have already develped grow, mature and function. Peach fuzz has begun to develp over most of his/her skin and the fingernails are begining to form on the tips of his/her fingers and toes. His/Her arms and leg joints are begining to function, and he or she can bend his/her arms or legs. (Man I am going to be glad when I can just write he or she and not have to put both).

Momma P- I am still tired and feel car sick most of the day, but this week seems to have been more tolerable then the last few. Other then last thurday (I felt AWEFUL on thursday) I have felt pretty good. I did not sleep all weekend like I did the last. I actually got up and cleaned the house Saturday morning at 7:30! Man I was feeling good... until lunch time. Still counting down the days to the second trimester while trying to enjoy every sick minute of the first one.

Lub-Dub, Lub-Dub, Lub-Dub, Lub-Dub Lub-Dub, Lub-Dub, Lub-Dub, Lub-Dub Lub-Dub, Lub-Dub,

Do you know what sound that is???? BABY P's HEART BEAT!!!

It was so sereal to hear a heart beat in my belly! It made it all "real". I think I acutally said, "There really IS a baby in there!!!" Chase tried to record it but you can't hear it on the video. :(

The Dr started off by warning us that it is not uncommon to not be able to hear the heart beat with the hand held dopler ultrasound at 10 weeks, so if not we would run down and do an ultrasound. I was kind of hoping she wouldn't be able to find it so we could SEE it! Then she pulled out this hand held thing with a wand connected to it, rubbed some jelly on it and rubbed it around on my belly. First in the center, then to the left a little then to the right... and there it was... Lub-Dub, Lub-Dub... and man was it fast! She said it sounded "strong" and  "perfect", but of course we already knew that :) Yay for another good check up!

Wish me luck as I enter week 11...

Tummy Tuesday

Finally... I little bump!!! But I'm still not convinced that it's not mostly bloating. :)

Baby P is now the size of a grape and finally looks human! Wahoo! Up till now, the pictures looked like it could have become anything from a bird to a frog... but now our little grape is now distinctly human. All of the body parts are now accounted for and will spent the next 7 months being fine tuned (including the boy/girl parts :), but they will not be distinct enough to see the difference until week 18 or so).

As for Momma P I am counting down the days until I am out of the first trimester. It's hard to enjoy being pregnant when I am tired and nauseous all...day...long. I slept 16+ hrs both Friday and Saturday night- and I could have slept longer... making life is sure tiring work. I am defiantly counting my blessings though, because I hear all kinds of horror stories of how bad off some people are. It could defiantly be worse.

This past weekend, Mary Leigh and I went to a consignment sale and I bought 2 of my first baby purchases.
Car Seat Cover

Play Mat

I have also begun forming a mental list of the things I will need, don't need, maybe need, and have. I would LOVE advice from all you moms out there. :)

Maybe Need:
