Tummy tuesday

Week 39

A certain 2 year old spilled something on our laptop and 70% of the sensors of the mouse pad thing went out. That's why the picture is not so good and no week written down the side.  Gotta work with what we've got while it's at the apple store getting fixed.

Yes folks, that's right I am 39 weeks and 5 days pregnant. That's 3 days over the due date I had given Margaret based on when Mary Claire was born. I just knew I would have a sweet bundle of joy by now. Not to mention TWO different doctors thought I would too. I've tried spicy, Chinese, eggplant parmesan, pressure points, warm baths, walks, and anything else I can find on google. I should at least get an A for effort, but she is obviously not ready.

At my last doctors appointment I had progressed even more. I was already measuring what I was after being in labor for 2 hours with Mary Claire. Doc told me to "go ahead and make an appointment for next Wednesday but I doubt you will make it that far." But here I am still pregnant.

I have come up with a few theories why:
Theory 1- By my calculations MC was due 2 days earlier then the date the doctor gave me. Plus it was leap year. So when she came 5 days early it was REALLY only 2 from my calculations. Margaret was measuring due the 30th on the first ultrasound but they went with the date calculation since it was within a week of the measuring date. So if you wanna get technicial tonight could very well the same night I went into labor with MC.
Theory 2- God is again teaching me that I can't control and plan out everything. He is in control not me... And patience has never been a virtue of mine, maybe he's working on that too.
Theory 3- maybe the right buyer for our house needs a few extra days to work everything out so we can sell it to them?
Theory 4- Margaret has heard her room isn't ready yet

My next appointment is tomorrow and I'm sure he will ask me about inducing. I'm not totally opposed to inducing but I would much rather her come when she is ready. I had such a smooth labor and delivery with Mary Claire I would hate to induce and it be awful and then kick myself for not being patient. Maybe he could just break my water and cross my fingers that sends me into labor naturally?
Am I supposed to induce so she could potentially have the option to start kindergarten early if she is ready?
Is she REALLY due?- I mean my due date was calculated from a miscarriage.
It would be awfully convent for all our out of town family to induce so they could travel over the long weekend.

Oh the things running through my head. I have no idea what is best? I guess I will just let the doctor decide tomorrow.

So here I sit- still pregnant with no nursery. Praying for a smooth delivery that comes very quickly.

Tummy Tuesday

38 Weeks

Week 38's Tummy Tuesday was the last one I did before Mary Claire came! AHHH!!!!

So far this pregnancy has virtually been a carbon copy of my pregnancy with Mary Claire. Even the way I am progressing. At this weeks doctors appointment there was no real progression. I have entered a "holding pattern waiting on mother nature" or "circling the airport" as the doctor put it. I am hoping Mother Nature jumps in this Thursday- that is in 2 days! On Thursday Margaret is considered "full term" and why hang out in there any longer than you need to? But if it continues to be a carbon copy of Mary Claire's pregnancy then I will go into labor Sunday night- not as convenient but I'll take it.

The nursery is still a work in progress. They were coming last weekend to finish but the carpet that matches the existing carpet in our house is apparently special order and will not be in until next Monday. ugh......

Making final list of things we need to buy before Margaret's arrival... pack-n-play sheets (you know- since she will be sleeping there at first since she won't have a nursery), a diaper bag, sound machine, and a few other miscellaneous things. But overall we are ready, maybe not fully prepared but ready. Daddy even got a hair cut last night and when he came home said, "I'm ready for hospital pictures!"

Margaret, Mommy and Daddy can't wait to meet you. Come on out sweet girl!

Tummy Tuesday

37 Weeks

2 weeks and 2 days to go! But who is counting? Mary Claire came 5 days early so that is what I am gaging my time left by... so really 11 days... right? (I am going to be a very unhappy camper in 12 days if Margaret is not here- just forewarning you)

They say there are 3 trimesters of pregnancy... but I heard someone say recently that is false. It should be broken up as follows : first 36 weeks and the last month. Totally true! I am finally in the uncomfortable part of pregnancy and in the "get this baby outta here" stage. My back hurts, my feet hurt, I can't breath,  I'm tired, I'm hungry but don't want to eat because there is no room in there and then I get heart burn, etc... All those things that make most people miserable most of their 9 months have just now hit me. Thankful that I only have "11 days" left. (Still going with 11 days)

Highlights from last Friday

*Lost 2.5 pounds in 1 week*
Remember that "there is no room for food" feeling I have- apparently it has decreased my appetite, Doc said no worries I am in still well with in the normal range and Margaret is going to get what she needs no matter what so he was not at all concerned.

*Margaret's heart rate was "unusually low for her"*
Her heart rate has been running in the mid to upper 150's but last Friday it was 128bpm. Doc shook her around a bit and got it up to 132bpm and said he wasn't concerned that she was probably just sleeping. He said anything about 110 is considered normal and as long as it is above that Margaret is fine.

*Still progressing quite nicely*
After he check, the first thing out of his mouth was "Do you want to induce?" I told him I was did not  and he said, "Good, I'm not sure you are going to make it the full 40 weeks so picking an induction date before you go into labor could be tricky." I guess my face must have lit up because he quickly followed with, "Now don't be mad at me if you go the full 40 weeks- it is entirely possible, but I would not be at all surprised if you go early." There is hope! See I told you 11 days....

So much to do and so little time (ahem... 11 days) left to do it!

Her nursery is not done. It still needs carpet, lights and a doorknob. Don't get me started on the workers.... UGH this momma wants to make a nest! Chase will not give me their number, and probably for good reason.

I have packed (for the most part) the hospital bag and it is in the van ready to go. Still not sure what we are going to do about Mary Claire if I go into labor- guess it will be a game time decision depending on what time of day and what day of the week I go into labor. Best case- I will go into labor in the morning on a week day and we can take her to school and that will give our out of town family time to get here and get her. Worst case- any other time than when she can go to school and she might just be going with us :) If you would like to be on the list to receive a panicked call from Chase trying to find someone to watch our kid when I go into labor let me know- we are currently taking applications.

Tummy Tuesday

36 WEEKS

Margaret is now around 6 pounds a packing on an ounce a day (or so "they" say), approximatly the size of a head of lettuce. Since I am measuring almost the exact same as I did with Mary Claire and she was only 6 pounds 2 ounces full term I highly doubt Margaret is already 6 pounds at only 36 weeks.

Speaking of Mary Claire- she "needed" to be in a picture too

On Thursday Margaret will move from being considered "Pre-term" to "Early Term"- then at 39 weeks she will be considered "Full Term." AHH!!! Almost there!

Highlights from the first weekly doctors appointment last friday.

- She is head down "Lock and Ready to go" as the doctor referred to it.
- I am already "progressing nicely" and could possibly have her a little early just like sister.
- Because I had an uncomplicated labor and delivery with Mary Claire I can expect that again.
- Just because my water broke with Mary Claire does not indicate it will this time. In fact odds are it won't this time.

Slowly but surely getting ready for Margaret too come!

Her room is coming right along- should be complete just in time for her arrival.

Since her room is not finished yet and our spare room is currently FULL all the stuff from the attic and things we have bought for Margaret's Room the back of the minivan is the holding space for the gifts from our showers...

If you see it we are VERY appreciative!!! Just have no where to put it at the moment. One day I will have a room to put her furniture in, a closet put her extra diapers/wipes in, and a dresser to put her clothes. one day.... one day....

And starting to pack a hospital bag. So far I have hair bows, a door hanger, and a big sister gift Margaret is bringing Mary Claire... Priorities
