Chase is getting old...

You know your getting old when... you tear your ACL by twisting your knee a funny direction.

OK, in his defense he was doing something manly- you know the usual- Riding Dirtbikes.

He went riding the day after Christmas, and his foot got caught and it twisted his knee funny. BAM! Torn ACL! As most men do, he didn't want to go to the doctor- you know... it was going to just go away with some ice. :) But after a few weeks of pain and it not getting any better he decided to go to the doctor.

The Doctor confirmed his suspension... Torn ACL. He ordered an MRI to further diagnose any other issues.

MRI revealed not only a torn ACL, but also a bone contusion (see left side)- That is what was causing all the pain. Nothing that needs to be addressed immediately so he just decided to just brace it for now and have surgery and physical therapy come Fall.

Goodness Gracious! Boys will be Boys!

Your Chariot Awaits

Before we had Mary Claire, Chase and I enjoyed going on family bike rides together- but haven't been able to since Mary Claire was born.... that is until now :)

Mary Claire, your Chariot Awaits...

She loved it!

I even tried to get Libby to pull her, but she wasn't up for it. :)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

New Year's Day Mary Leigh had everyone over for a new years lunch!  It was so much fun to have all four of us siblings back together under one roof. We all filled our bellies with health, wealth, and happiness!

Eat up sister! 2013 is going to be our year!

Merry Christmas!!!

Peeler Christmas Card 2012

It is so hard to believe Mary Claire's first Christmas has already come and gone. Our first Christmas as a family of 3 was a wonderful, world-wind! Mary Claire is extremely blessed that she has 4 grand-parents, and 7 great-grandparents and they are all with in 45 minutes of each other. It makes for an extremely busy few days getting to share Christmas with everyone.

Up first a visit to the "Real Santa"
This guy is the real-deal. He calls you up by name, he knows your pets names, he knows you don't eat your vegetables, he knows everything. It's MAGIC!

She wasn't feeling to well- she just sat and stared at him????

The next morning she really wasn't feeling well so off to the Doctor we went.

She had a cold which resulted in a left ear infection and a right ear headed that way. Poor baby was sick for her first Christmas. :(

Christmas is always a crazy fun whirl-wind for Chase and I, and now that we have added another member to our little family- I knew is was going to get even more fun! We celebrated Christmas SEVEN times, yes- that is right- SEVEN, Plus Santa came!

Ready... Set... Go!

Christmas Round One: MeeMaw's
(pre-sickness)

Round Two: D'D and PopPop's

I love to go back to my parents house where I have so many childhood Christmas memories and share that with Mary Claire.

Sweet Girl didn't feel good at all :(

Daddy loved his hat from Mary Claire... "Make Gumbo, Not War"

One of my favorite gifts was "From the garage"- you see my dad could very easily be on the show "Horders". Exibit A- our Christmas List from circa 1995.

Round Three: MawMaw and PawPaw's
Christmas at MawMaw's is always loud and crazy. We all talk at once and open all our presents at the same time despite MawMaw's best efforts to convince us to open them "ONE AT A TIME!"

This Christmas was a little different since MawMaw had been sick. Instead of fine china, table clothes, and 3 forks, we ate food prepared by her friends, family, and neighbors on paper plates picnic style. But for me, it makes no difference. I was just glad to be surrounded by so much family for Mary Claire's first Christmas.

Round Four: NaNa and Pop's

Christmas at NaNa and Pops should be a sin. :) To say there are TONS of gifts maybe the under-statement of the year. NaNa goes all out at Christmas. If you have ever so much as murmured you thought you might be like to have something she remembers. It's insane! We actually had to do it in 2 rounds because we ran out of time.

(picture update when I can find them???)

Round Five: Granny and PeePaw's

It's a Christmas morning tradition at the Peeler's to have breakfast at Granny's in our PJ's. She gets up extra early to squeeze home-made orange juice. It is the best thing that has ever crossed my lips. Definitely a tradition I hope continues :)

Round Six: MiMi and Peanut's

Oh...My...Goodness.... Christmas at MiMi's :)
My favorite part of Christmas at MiMi's this year was playing dirty santa with Mary Leigh's foreign exchange student. It was hilarious! I still don't think she ever knew what the heck was going on.

I was a slaker here... this is the only pictures you get. :)

SANTA!

Santa scored Mary Claire's FAVORITE gift she got this Christmas... The Pink Rocking Pony. She will ride that thing all.day.long.

In addition to her new pony, Santa also brought a wooden table and chairs, an umbrella stroller, movies, paci's, cups, a Pottery Barn chair, finger nail polish, her elf on the shelf for next year, hair bows, clothes, and so much more! She must have been a very good girl this year!

Whew... what a Christmas. It was hectic, crazy, busy, loud, and fun, but I wouldn't have it any other way. We are so blessed to be able to share Christmas with everyone every year, because it is not always something wrapped under the tree that is the best gift. Sometimes the best gifts are the laughs you share and the time spent with family. The packages wrapped in pretty paper and bows will be there every Christmas - but there will come a time when we won't have the opportunity to do 7 Christmas. This year, it being Mary Claire's first Christmas, I was reminded how lucky we really are.

After we came back home, we also shared Christmas with Robert and Emily for Christmas Round Seven
