Tummy Tuesday

At 13 weeks we have entered the "Is she fat, or is she pregnant?" stage with the rise of an official baby bump.

Baby is now about 3 inches long- about the size of a shrimp- with a much more proportional head to body ratio. S/he already has his/her own unique finger prints- tiny, but solely his/hers.

As for momma- sickness seems to be going away. Only feel bad occasionally, but still EXHAUSTED. Like I went to be at 7:15 last night kind of tired. I am beginning to wonder if I will ever have energy after 1pm ever again. I have many more aches and pains with this pregnancy too, but apparently that is normal with a second pregnancy and then each subsequent one. "Your body has already been through a lot, and your not as young as you were before", really Doc- I'm only 26?!?! Baby especially HATES it when I sneeze sitting down. Apparently I cramp him/her too much and he/she is quick to let me know. I get this quick pain that will take my breathe away. Really kid... you think your smushed now, just wait. But honestly over all I can't complain- its totally worth it!

I read back my to my weekly entries with Mary Claire and I seem to feel very similarly, but all I can remember is LOVING being pregnant! Funny how that happens huh? I hit an up swing with her around 16 weeks and felt great after that... so counting down to 16 weeks.

Tummy Tuesday

Maybe a little bump?

I looking back to my weekly pictures with Mary Claire at 12 weeks was when I really started to show.

Definitely bigger with Mary Claire. I showed Chase the comparison and he said, "With how small Mary Claire was, this kid may weigh 3 pounds."- you Sir are correct. I'm sure having the stomach bug last week set me back a little, but no worries I catch up :)

My Doctors appointment last week was very uneventful. After sitting in the waiting room for 20 minutes (UGH!) I got called back sat in a room for another 30 minutes (DOUBLE UGH!) Patience is not one of my strong suits. As a matter of fact I suck at it. I was NOT a happy camper! Didn't they understand I had things to do on my day off... my only day to sew, clean house and get groceries?!?! COME ON PEOPLE!! Then the nurse finally came in, "I'm so sorry, the doctor has not come up from the hospital yet- she is in emergency surgery. I can have another doctor come in if you don't want to wait." Talk about a kick in the gut! I'm sitting here ticked about having to wait and someone else is having the worst day of their life. Possibly loosing a baby or wife, and all I can think about is how it ruined my morning plans. Needless to say I waited patently from there on out. Got to hear my sweet little baby's heart beat, and was told "Looks great! See you in 4 weeks." 2 hours later I was leaving.

As for Momma P- I am feeling better. I'm still occasionally nauseous, but it is getting better. And still very tired all the time, not I want to sleep kind of tired- just I want to be still and quiet kind of tired... you know veg-out on the couch and not move. Complete and total exhaustion starting around 2pm. Which isn't always the recipe for a happy husband. Hopefully in the next few weeks that will subside too. But over all I can not complain.

As far as cravings I want
- Pizza
- Fruit... any and all of it
- Pizza
- Baked Potatoes
- Salad
- Pizza
- Twizzlers (only the soft pull and peel ones)
- oh, did I mention Pizza?

And I have had a complete avulsion to chicken?!?! We usually eat chicken 3-4 times a week, but I can probably count on one had the times I have eaten chicken since Christmas. It seems to be getting better though. Over-processed nuggets I can now stomach. How healthy right?

Tummy Tuesday

There was A LOT going on in this tummy this week.... The stomach bug hit the Peeler house. Having the stomach bug is bad enough, but having it while pregnant takes it to a whole new level of hell. It only lasted 24 hours but then Chase got it 12 hours in. How was Mary Claire you ask?.... GREAT! She felt WONDERFUL- which was both a blessing and a curse when both mommy and daddy are incapacitated. Chase bounced right back of course, but it took me a another 24 hours to fully recover. And by "fully recover" I mean to only have morning sickness all day. Oh joy... if the first trimester over yet?!?!?! It's been a great week to say the least. Hints why I look so good in my tummy picture :).

Baby P is 1 1/2 inches long and almost fully formed. Can you imagine perfectly knitted together baby only 1 1/2 inches long swimming inside my belly? Hello God, your amazing! Can't wait for S/He to be big enough to feel those sweet little kicks. My blood volume has increased a good bit, therefore I am already getting up in the middle of the night to potty. I forgot that started this early. And the increased blood volume must account for the extra weight since baby P only weighs less than an ounce, right?!?!

Chase and I have begun discussing baby names again, and already have a few picked out. We like to go with family names and some big contenders are for boys Branch or Roscoe and for girls Flossy or Lady. Lots of good choices, not sure how we will ever choose. :)

Still have a definite girl feeling, but I can also now possibly see it being a boy... only 8 long weeks until we find out.

Rounding the corner to the 2nd trimester....I will be 12 weeks on Thursday and another Doctors appointment this Friday.

Tummy Tuesday

Still just bloated and pudgy... Ever heard they saying "Can't fit 50lbs of potatoes in a 20lb bag"- that was me in my pants on Sunday at church. Being in scrubs everyday I don't realize how tight my real clothes are getting. Loving anything that stretches!

Baby P is a little over an inch long, and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce (although mom has gained much more than that!). S/he has now completed the most critical portion of his/her development. This is the beginning of the so called fetal period when tissue and organs in his/her body rapidly grow and mature. S/he is swallowing fluid and kicking up a storn. Vital organs including kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver are starting to function. Tiny nails are forming on his/her fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach fuzz hair is beginning to grow on that sweet, sweet skin.

No wonder I have been so tired! I've been working hard!!! I'm not nearly as sickly as I was with MC but I am definitely more exhausted. I can't just lay down whenever I want this time around.
