Tummy Tuesday

Your week 17 Belly shot

Baby P is getting so big! He/She is now 5 ounces and 5 inches long... and I can tell he/she is growing because my belly is growing too :). Not to mention I still get those growing pains when I sneeze. His her bones are beginning to harden and turn into hard bone instead of soft cartilage. He/She is movin and groovin now- but I have not felt him/her yet. I should feel the first few flutters in the next few weeks.

Big new for Momma P this week- At 17 weeks and 1 day a I wore my first pair of maternity pants. I have been able to fit into my "fat jeans" for the last few weeks, but I got a new pair of boots that I wanted to wear and my skinny jeans are just that... Skinny... So I sure as heck could not fit into them. I am not quite big enough to fill out maternity pants yet though. I kept having to pull them up. I hate this in between phase. Regular clothes are too tight and maternity clothes are too big. Hopefully I will begin to fill out the maternity pants a little better with this growth spert baby P is about to hit.

Still pretty sure I am having a very strong willed child... I get more and more openly opinionated by the minute. I agree or I don't, great idea or horrible idea, I like you or you get on my last nerve, and so on... And I am quick to give you a piece of my mind about it. I am blaming it on my hormones. Well that or I am turning into a momma bear.... One or the other.

I was bound and determined not to be forgetful. Well- anymore then I already was before I got pregnant. I have always been known to be forgetful--- so I was afraid... how much worse it could get? How have I done you ask? AWEFUL! I can not remember anything! But that hasn't stopped me from trying really hard. I am the queen of list. You can always find at least 2 list in my purse at all times... a grocery list, list of things to do when I get home, list of baby items I need, list of baby items I have, list of items to get for the gender reveal party, list of things to fix on the house, list of people to call, list of errunds to run on my lunch break, list of things to discuss on Tummy Tuesday... I make tons of list now. But it doesn't seem to help... I loose the lists....

We find out what baby P is on Oct 7th... in case you are counting... becasue I am... thats 10 DAYS! I am so excited to find out pink or blue!!!

Tummy Tuesday

Your weekly belly shot... and to put it into the loving words of my husband... I "actually look like a pregnant women", and I will have to agree. The baby pudge is moving up and actually turning into a baby belly.

Oh and please note the sports bra... None of my bras fit...

Baby P is going to hit a growth spurt in the next few weeks and double in size and weight . Right now he/she is 4.5 inches long and weighs 3.5 ounces (about the size of the avocado). His/Her toenails are growing and his/her hair line is beginning to develop even though he/she doesn't have any hair yet. His/her eyes and ears are finally finding there final resting place in there correct position- and he/she is looking more and more human. Makes me wonder which human he/she is going to look like? Me? or Chase? I smile just picturing him/her :) Hopefully a great combination of both... you know my teeth, his eyes, my feet, his hair, etc... I am so excited to see how God combines the 2 of us into one small child!

Some websites say you can determine the sex of the baby as early as 16 weeks. THATS RIGHT NOW!!! Makes me feel some cramps coming on... just kidding.

And for Momma P- I just feel fat. I see these weekly pictures of myself and I do look pregnant not fat, but on a day by day basis I just feel gross. But on the plus side, I did order 3 pregnancy workout videos... Now I just have to find the motivation to actually do them, not just let them lay on the coffee table.

I can't think of anything new for me this week, other than I get a yucky metallic taste in my mouth after I eat or drink anything. Kind of gross...

So something I have already been worrying about... CHILDCARE.
1. How long do I take for maternity leave? Keep in mind I do not get paid if I am not at work. Period. 6 weeks? 8 weeks? 10 weeks?
2. Daycare vs Homecare... I am leaning towards Homecare for an infant, then a more a structured daycare as they get older.
3. Who do I trust to take care of my precious baby?
4. Better to be close to work or home?
5. Why is it so expensive?
6. What if they want to do dance or soccer and practice starts at 4:30? We don't get off until 5... what do parents do?

I could go on and on but I've got to stop thinking about it... it stresses me out! I want to be an involved parent, but how do working moms do it?!?!?!

On to a happy note... Hello week 17 :)

Warrior Dash

My office got a group together to do the Warrior Dash this year. The Warrior Dash is a 5K obstacle course complete with obstacles such as "Road Rage" (run through a scrapyard full of rusted wreckage), "Aracnophobia" (tread through tangled ropes), "Black Out" (dive into darkness to escape the trenches), "Cargo climb" (self explanatory), "Warrior Roast" (jump over fire), and lastly you scramble beneath barbed wire in a muddy pit to complete the course. Needless to say, I was not a part of the team because I am 4 months pregnant- but Chase was!

Chase and I were keeping Bates and Brodie on Saturday while Mary Leigh and Nick were in Atlanta,  so we were the designated cheerleaders. I use term "we" very loosely seeing as there was a lot of this going on in the stroller....

Here are a few Before Pictures:

After seeing them off the boys and I set up camp next to the "Warrior Roast" to watch people jump over fire! We did anything and everything to entertain ourselves while we waited for "Unk Chas" to come through...

"Go Chas Go!!!!"

And After Pictures...

Chase finished 103rd out of 768 in his age group and 495th out of 10921 overall with a time of 32 minutes and 21 seconds! Go "Unk Chas"!

We all had a great time! I am looking forward to hopefully being able to do it next year!

Tummy Tuesday

Your weekly belly shot- Still not a lot of change, but I guess that is good seeing as I don't have any summer maternity clothes and it is 90 degrees outside!

And who wants to see a naked belly shot from yesterday... (kids cover your eyes)

Baby P is now 15 weeks! WOW! Where has time gone? I mean in less then a month we find out if it is boy or girl... Really?!?! Wowzers! Makes me more concious of cherishing each moment of my pregnancy and not trying to wish I was farther along because before I know it I will no longer be pregnant and he/she will BE HERE!

Baby P is now 4 inches long and weighs about 2.5 ounces (about the size of an apple)... He/She is getting so big! His/her legs are growing longer then his/her arms now and all his/her joints are mobile. Although his/her eyelids are fused shut right now, he/she can sense light and respond to it.

side note: 4 more weeks before it is a He or She and not a He/She... not that I am counting down or anything.

For the most part I have mainly only wanted semi-healthy foods, and not many sweets, but this week I have developed a severe sweet tooth... for Candy! I can't get enough!!! It started as just Twizzler pull-n-peels, but now it's ANYTHING fruity and chewy... skittles, starburst, sour patch kids, sweetish fish- YUM! Man my mouth is watering just thinking about it. :)

CVS put the candy that was on sale RIGHT BESIDE the prenatal vitamins... SERIOUSLY?!?!?! I guess they know what they are doing. :)

Be it a boy or a girl, I am fairly sure I am going to have a VERY strong willed child. I don't know what has gotten into me but I have become very strong willed lately. Things that I would have just let roll off my back I have confronted the person about. I mean typically I'm pretty passive, go with the flow, don't want to buck the system, and try to aviod controversy at all cost... But lately it like I go looking for it. Seriously, you cross me and I am quick to give you a peace of my mind (and then cry about it). Which has not boaded well with our contractor (yes... our roof is leaking again... more on that later), at work, or with my family. I definatly feel better after getting it off my chest, but my goodness- I've turned into this cold hearted, take no prisoners, won't take no for an answer momma bear. Kind of scary...

Moving on to Week 16....

Tummy Tuesday

Here is your weekly tummy shot... Not much change again...

This weeks big development for Baby P is he/she can now squint, frown, grimace, and possibly suck his/her thumb! I can not wait to have an ultrasound and get the first few glimpses of his/her personality... I mean you can tell a lot about a person from their facial expressions. He/she is now 3.5 inches long and weighs a little more then an ounce. His/Her ears have now moved from their neck to the side of their head, and his/her eyes are now in the middle of their face and not on the side of their head. He/she looks like a baby not an alien :). Have I mentioned how excited I am about seeing him/her on an ultrasound!!!!

Baby P got a good check up this week (and so did momma P)- Everything was normal and right on track. I got some good news, I am A+ blood type which means I do not have to have that injection at 20 weeks! Wahoo! Cause we know how much I HATE shots... I am already stressing about the epideral! UGH!!!! I have weighed the options of not having it, but then I come to my senses. Surely the GINORMOUS needle can not hurt as much as giving birth with out it. But- I guess it says a lot about how scared I am about shots to even consider it. :) Next check up is Oct 7th and we get our first ultrasound!!! WAHOO!!!! And for those of you who were worried about the pain when I sneeze- it is just my uterus growing and nothing to worry about.

This weeks stats:
1 doctor visit
3.5 total pounds gained
150 beats per min
0 maternity clothes worn
3 gender neutral baby items purchased (a bumpo, a moby wrap, and a head rest for the car seat)
4 periods of nausea
15 invitations ordered for our gender reveal party
7 nightly potty trips
1 friend from work found out she was pregnant... Don't drink the water, right?!?!

Here's to week 15...
