Margaret is 6 Months Old (and 5 month update a little late)

Look who is now SIX MONTHS OLD!

That's a full half year y'all! How is that possible? Doesn't it feel like just last month she was only 4 months old? It sure does to this momma. These last 2 months have been a blur- so much so I forgot to blog about her 5th month. OOPS. Mommy fail! I did take her picture though.

These last 2 months have been busy busy busy. We finally got a contract on our house in Alabama and should be able to close that chapter in our lives in the next few days, and we are excited to finally be able to officially start our lives here. We have already found a new house and should be able to move in the first part of April. Margaret will finally have a nursery of her very own! Bless her second-child heart.

At your 4 month check up Doc gave us the go ahead to start solid foods starting with rice cereal. In his words not mine, "She is REALLY going to like it"
Don't let that face fool you--- You loved it!
So far you have eaten: rice cereal, bananas, avocados, sweet potatoes, apples, squash, and blue berries.
Avocados were the only food you didn't like at first, or second.

But by the third try you liked them too!

Sweet Potatoes are your favorite! Just like Daddy!

You might like sweet potatoes like daddy, but you are dramatic like your mommy.
These pictures were taken with in 5 seconds of each other.

Lord, help us... raising girls isn't going to be easy.

We had some unseasonably warm days in January and February which we made the best of!

Followed by unseasonably cold weather.

The sunshine off the snow was super bright if you can't tell.

You have also been "teething" for about 3 months now.... no teeth yet, but they should be coming in soon. You chew on anything you can get your hands on!

You had always been a great sleeper, but around 3-4 months old you just stopped progressing. We got stuck in a rut, getting up every 4 hours or so to eat then going right back to sleep. Most of our nights go like this. Down at 8pm, up at 11:30 to eat then back to sleep, up at 4am to eat then back to sleep, up at 9am for the day. It wasn't that bad for a while, but then I started trying to figure out how to make you sleep longer.

One arm swaddle?

nope...

No arm swaddle?

nope...

No swaddle, nope!... FULL belly, nope! Nothing we were trying would work. Doc recommend starting to let you cry it out. Wish us luck!

Guess what else happened this month?

You were Baptized!

We were very excited that your D'D got to assist in your Baptism.

Mommy and Daddy promise to raise you in loving, Christian home and will do our best to set a good example of God's hands and feet. But lucky for you, you will also be surrounded by a loving church family to help us when we fail you.

This past month(s) you also had your first ear infection. It was actually a double ear infection, and of course it happened over the weekend so we had to take you to the minor medical place on a Sunday and the nurse asked me if you were allergic to any antibiotics. I actually laughed out loud and said, "No Ma'am- and she has actually had every antibiotic known to modern medicine, so I think we are good." But sweet girl, you were so pitiful.

I'm going to leave you with some of my favorite candid shots from the last month(s)
